E3 2009: GT PSP is coming (believe it or not)

During their E3 2009 keynote speech today, Sony gave us some great news about the highly anticipated killer app for the PSP - Gran Turismo PSP. Alongside the confirmation of the PSP GO, this was one of the biggest announcements of their keynote.

The game was demonstrated during the speech, with a trailer showing off some new footage, although we don't know if it was in-game footage or not.

There will be over 800 cars, 35 tracks and 60 layouts of those tracks. The game will also run at 60 fps.

It was also confirmed for a October 1, 2009 release alongside the PSP GO, although no confirmation was given if this was just for the US or global.

Many games were limited in their potential size because they would otherwise become larger than would fit on a UMD, so there is this odd chance that in order for some games to reach maximum potential they would require only a limitless sized digital format.

CHEE5E, you make me rest assured that there may be releases in both formats. I'm in high expectations for the future that the PSN store should support all PSP models.

Don’t worry abuu Sony said the PSP GO is not a replacement but an option if you like digital content instead of discs. As for GT PSP I think they are going down the same road as GT5 Prologue as in releasing it on both disc and on the PS Store. In the video below @ about 48secs in you can see it being shown on a PSP 3000. I'm all for digital distribution but I’m sure the option for discs will be around for some time.

i never thought theyd fit that much on the psp version. Thats cool as. Better be for old psp aswell. Also i hope the graphics will be good. Polyphony Digital always have amazing graphics, so i hope they do the psp justice
