Many times considered the weirdest and most outrageous
brand in video games today, the PSP version, Me and My Katamari, maintains
all of the aspects associated with previous titles. Does the handheld
version holdup, or does it roll away?

Red Hot Rumble, although offering a fighting type game much similar to the style of
Super Smash Bros., maintains all of the original coolness and comic-style
mayhem that has made the franchise so popular through the two original
titles for Gamecube and Playstation 2. Does Joe’s attempt at
side-scrolling, fighting mayhem connect a punch, or does it lay dead on the
floor?

Here we have another budget title: Gripshift. This game is supposed to be a Puzzle, Plaform, Driving, Action game. What on earth does this actually mean and how does this game play out? Sceptical? I was, especially with a lower price tag on it, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The racing genre on PSP has not been short of titles so far. So with so many racing games to choose from, what does V8 Supercar Racedriver 2 bring to the table that will make you choose it over the others? More importantly for the Australian audience have the use of the V8 cars and tracks made a true difference to this title; or is this simply an afterthought?

There is definitely no shortage of puzzle games on handheld consoles and the PSP is no exception. Frantix is one of the so called budget puzzle titles for PSP along with other releases such as Sudoku and Gripshift. Is it worth the time to "unmuzzle the puzzle!" as the box art demands?

LOTR Tactics is a turn-based RPG strategy game based on battles which occurred in the book and movie, albeit at a much
smaller scale. You have the option as playing as the Fellowship or as the Host of Mordor as you move through battles in
middle earth. All the main characters such as Aragorn, Frodo, Legolas, Sauron and the Ringwraith are included as well
as the less glamorised soldiers of Gondor and Warg Riders. Any item bearing the name Lord of the Rings comes with a lot
of expectation and LOTR Tactics is no different. So just how does it stack up against the weight of expectation?

Frantix is an addition to the incredibly small number of puzzle games on the PSP. Along with Gripshift it's one of the first 'budget' titles on the PSP. It consists of guiding a character through an environment filled with obstacles and traps, collecting crystals and making it to an exit before the time runs out.

PC for many years and Fireteam Bravo is the first (of hopefully many) PSP specific SOCOM titles.

a great sports game.

X-Men II: Rise of Apocalypse is one of the best games out on the PSP. You don't
have to know anything about the X-Men to get into this game or understand
what's going on. The storyline will keep you interested as you make your way
through different worlds both indoors and outdoors. Despite the long loading
times the positives far outweigh the negatives. The great gameplay combined with
a great storyline makes this the best RPG on the PSP so far and will be hard to
beat anytime soon.

Logic3's Sound Grip is a good all-round alternative to the larger PSP sound systems. It addresses two key problems on the PSP, ergonomics and volume. As the name suggest, the Logic3 Sound Grip is a speaker set, grip all in one.

Pursuit Force is one of the first PSP specific games to be released for the PSP (along with Mercury and Infected). The premise is simple enough: you're a cop who has to take down 5 gangs using any means necessary (i.e. lethal force) often chasing them using a range of vehicles including cars, jeeps, speedboats, motorbikes and helicopters. Sounds like fun? Read on.

The SSX series is touted as the best implementation of a snowboarding game ever, although I personally still favour 1080 Snowboarding on the N64 which was great for its time. There have been stinkers too, the only thing remotely 'cool' about the Gameboy Advance implementation of Shaun Palmer' Pro Snowboarder was that it came close to inducing an ice-cream headache. So does SSX On Tour carve it up?

Games based off big budget movies rarely deliver the goods on any platform. Sure there have been a few hits but you could arguably count the successes using fingers and toes. The Spiderman 2 UMD was great, so how does this conversion fare on PSP? Does great power mean great portability?
